headerNOTICE OF PUBLIC CONSULTATION Babergh and Mid Suffolk Joint Local Plan Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 (Regulation 18)

Notice is hereby given that Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils are carrying out a consultation in relation to the Babergh and Mid Suffolk Joint Local Plan. The consultation is being carried out under Regulation 18 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 The consultation period is ten weeks commencing on Monday 22nd July 2019 and concluding at 4pm on Monday 30th September 2019.

WHAT IS THE JOINT LOCAL PLAN? The Joint Local Plan will relate to the area covered by Babergh District Council and Mid Suffolk District Council and will set out planning policies for the two Districts up to 2036. It will identify the amount of development required and allocate sites for development.

VIEWING THE CONSULTATION The Babergh and Mid Suffolk Joint Local Plan Preferred Options Document (July 2019) is available to view on the Councils’ websites as follows: www.babergh.gov.uk/jointlocalplan or www.midsuffolk.gov.uk/jointlocalplan In addition, paper copies of the consultation document are available to view at the Councils’ office at Endeavour House, 8 Russell Road, Ipswich, IP1 2BX, at the Customer Access Point at 54 Ipswich Street, Stowmarket, IP14 1AD, at the Customer Access Point at the Town Hall, Old Market Place, Sudbury, CO10 1TL and in libraries in the Districts.

HOW TO COMMENT Comments must be made by 4pm on Monday 30th September 2019. Comments can be made electronically through the Councils’ online system at www.babergh.gov.uk/jointlocalplan or www.midsuffolk.gov.uk/jointlocalplan; by email to localplan@baberghmidsuffolk.gov.uk; or in writing to Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils, Endeavour House, Russell Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP1 2BX. To deliver comments in person please telephone 0300 123 4000 (option 5 then option 4).

Foster carers for Suffolk children

As a local authority, Suffolk County Council is responsible for more than 800 children in care in Suffolk. The Suffolk Fostering & Adoption service is part of Suffolk County Council, and their goal is to secure families for Suffolk children, either on a short-term or permanent basis. The service has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted.  Fostering is a big commitment, but it is an incredibly rewarding journey. Foster carers can make a real difference to a child’s life, providing them with the nurturing home life they need to give them every chance of a happy childhood and to succeed in life.
