The Suffolk Royal British Legion is going to commemorate the centenary of the 1918 Armistice by laying poppies on all of the Great War burials located in the county.  There are 1,320 burials at 247 sites that span the length and breadth of the county and each will be visited by local volunteers and school children who will be laying poppies.

On 8th November, along with other parishes in Suffolk, we will be holding a ceremony to lay a Poppy Cross and marker at the WW1 grave in our village churchyard to commemorate Private FW Steward who died on 9th January 1919, Age 25 and was given a Military Burial in our churchyard.

We plan on starting at 10:45 so that we can have one-minute silence at 11.00am simultaneously with the other parishes. The churchyard is in St Mary’s Church at the end of Church Lane.

If you are able to be there, we would welcome your support.
