Annual Canvass of Electors 2021 - email communications

Dear Parish and Town Clerks,
There has been some concern from our residents as a result of emails that were sent out yesterday as part of the annual canvass. The emails are genuine but we recognise the wariness of people as they were not sent from our usual email address and they direct users to the website of our software provider.
If you are contacted, please note the following information so that you can provide reassurance:
* The emails were sent from: babergh.and.mid.suffolk.electoral.services@notifications.service.gov.uk<mailto:babergh.and.mid.suffolk.electoral.services@notifications.service.gov.uk> * They start: Act now so Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils can check who is eligible to be registered to vote at your address. * They direct users to visit: https://www.registersecurely.com/BaberghandMidSuffolk
Anyone who does not complete the process online will automatically be sent a form through the post in August, so if they would rather not provide information online they don't have to.
